Our Story

It’s Personal

BruBash began as a family walk team supporting Breakthrough T1D after Peighton, the granddaughter of ECS founder Bryan and daughter of ECS President James, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just 3 years old.

Peighton is 14 now and has spent nearly her entire life managing a disease that never takes a day off.

Type 1 diabetes runs deep in the ECS family. Bryan lives with T1D, as does Lisa, ECS’s Executive Vice President. Several other members of the ECS team are also personally affected by the disease.

What started as a small walk-team fundraiser grew into BruBash because our family, employees, clients, partners, and friends wanted a bigger way to come together and support a cause that means so much to us.

Today, BruBash brings our community together for an evening of great food, cold drinks, live music, and fun, all while raising money for Breakthrough T1D. Net proceeds from the event benefit its work advancing research, advocacy, and support for people and families living with type 1 diabetes, including ours.
