This is an event that we hold every year in middle of the fall. It used to just be a small gathering of employees and families, but in 2023 we wanted to grow the event and make it a public party. We close down 206th street, have live music, games, drinks, hot dog & brat dinners, and more!
Bryan (owner), Lisa (Bryan’s daughter and our Vice President), and James’s daughter Peighton all have type 1 diabetes. A couple of years ago, ECS started using this event to gather donations for Peighton’s pack (Donation Site) and we have raised quite a bit of money for her. Last year when we made the event public, we did free will donations at the event. We had about 200 people come out and party/donate.
This year, we wanted to make it even bigger, so we started looking for sponsors to help fund the event to raise even more money for Breakthrough T1D. We are bringing in a live band this year as well as well as Oktoberfest beer from local breweries and other yard games. Our plan is to keep growing this event every year until we can’t fit on our street anymore!
